Trailer Orientation Guide

Here's a guide on how to pickup and get the most out of your brand new trailer!

Before receiving your trailer

  • You will need a 7-pin port on the back of your vehicle, some vehicles (typically Toyota's) will need an extension if the port is further than 8-10" from the receiver.
  • You will need an in-vehicle brake controller of your choice.
  • Hitch receiver with center-line height set to 21", or 25" if you opted for the Evolution Suspension.
  • Matching hitch to what is equipped on your trailer (2" ball or Max Coupler).
  • Test 7-pin wiring prior to driving with your trailer.

After receiving your trailer

  • Safety First: Locate your fire extinguisher, smoke/CO detector, and flammable gas sensor and ensure they are in working order!
  • Get familiar with the tent, awning, and shower (if equipped). Fold them out and learn how to set them up prior to camping to make your first camping trip seamless!
  • Learn where everything is in the trailer. Locate all your light switches, USB ports, controls, and anything else equipped on your trailer.
  • Tip: Open the 200-amp breaker when the inverter and 120 volt system are not in use to save power! The inverter will draw non-negligible amounts of power when at idle. Maximizing Battery Life
  • Test the emergency door release by taking the thumb screw and metal plate out and slide the latch rod downwards to release the door. Knowing how to use this can provide peace of mind.
  • We recommend greasing the Max Coupler right away, even if it's already been greased from the factory.
  • Tip: Zipper life and performance can be increased by applying wax to them, this can be achieved with candle wax or wax paper. Simply rub the wax onto the zipper's length and open/close the zipper a few times!
  • Follow the water system sanitization procedure before filling your trailer with drinking water.
  • Fill your propane tank locally and purge the system of any air by operating the stove, furnace, and water heater for 10 minutes each, starting in that order.
  • Tip: Make sure you don't lose your magnetic jack handle! Ensure it is stowed away before driving your trailer anywhere.
  • Make sure to follow the tag that comes with your keys, it states when you need to retighten your lug nuts.
  • Turn your batteries on to test them. Newer trailers have rubber access plugs on the side of the battery compartment inside the front cabinet. Hold the silver power button for 4 seconds to turn on, 8 seconds to turn off, and just press the button to put them in sleep mode.
  • Tip: Make sure your tents and awnings are dry before stowing to ensure there's no mold or mildew.
